Chalice, Cathedral Square, Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand

View of "Chalice" from top of the Christchurch Cathedral spire. "Chalice", built in 2000, is a commissioned work by world renowned sculptor Neil Dawson for Cathedral Square. It is a conical structure 18 metres high, 1.2 metres in diameter at its base and 8.5 metres in diameter at the top. It is painted silver on the outside and the internal surface is a metallic blue.
