Ghateshwara Mahadeva, Baroli, Rajasthan, India
Ghateshwara Mahadeva is the largest and best preserved of the nine Baroli Group of Temples. The place is located 45 km from Kota close to the town of Rawatbhata. The temples were built between 10th and 11th centuries AD in the Gurjara Pratyahara style. This main temple is dedicated to Shiva whose lingam is in the shape of an inverted pot (ghata) and hence the name. Very little else is known about the history of these temples.
