Everything we tried on this trip has been attempted before - train journey, week-long sightseeing in a new Indian city. Short car rides etc. First probably would be attending a marriage with Pranav.
Manoj's mother joined us for the trip. We had to catch the 5:20pm train from Pune station. Pranav became a bit irritated with station noise. Train came and left on time. We gave him Avomine after we entered the train. It took some time to kick in. Pranav was quite active for the first hour or so. Since we were only 3 adults, we had a stranger in our 4 seater. But it wasn't too bad. Pranav ignored him.
Reached Bhopal without incidents. We fed Pranav home cooked food. We later learnt that all the trains slated to reach Bhopal on that day was help up due to the gas-tragedy agitation. We lucked out! We took an auto to the hotel. After checking in, put Pranav to sleep. Manoj and his mother checked out the Anthropology museum. When Pranav woke up, we fed him and went back to the museum to see just the highlights.
Breakfast at the hotel was sumptuous and we fed Pranav bread and fruits. Took an auto to tour the mosques. Pranav refused to sleep in the afternoon. He does that occasionally. Today was one such occasion. He was cranky for the rest of the day. Not an ideal day to goto a marriage. We did. Pranav was quite upset with noise and crowd and we came back early.
Aparna went early to the marriage. Idlis and Papayas were available for breakfast everyday at the hotel. Pranav does not like idlis. But it is something that is light on his tummy. So we cajoled him to eat that stuff today and the next 3 days. Rest of us joined Aparna later in the day. After a good meal we returned to the hotel. Today everyone had a nap. In the evening we went to Manuabhan ki Tekari. It was a stiff 30 min climb to the temple. Manoj carried Pranav all the way. It was worth the effort though. Pranav refused to eat anything except rotis for dinner. So we gave up on the GFCF diet and gave him what he wanted. Didn't have any problems through out the trip.
Took a car to check out Bhojpur and Bhimbetka. Horrible roads ensured that it was a 2.5 ride to cover about 50 kms. But Pranav had no problems. Bad roads means slow speed. We could only give Pranav apples and bread on the trip. He slept on the way back. Reasonably easy day for him.
Took an auto to Islamnagar ruins. Autos dont do anything to Pranav. So no problems today. In the evening, we checked out the State museum. As before Manoj did the initial scouting and rest of us saw only the highlights.
Same breakfast. 1.5 hr taxi ride to Udaigiri and Sanchi. Reasonable roads. No problems for Pranav. In the afternoon we took turns to see Sanchi while Pranav stayed put at the hotel.
Came to Aparna's uncle's home for the day. So an usual day at home. The train was in the night. Pranav really hated the commotion at the station. It was a bad 45 mins at the station with him. But train came on time and as soon as we entered the calmness of an AC compartment, Pranav calmed down and we had a nice journey back. We did give Avomine today. It was only used in the two train journeys on the trip.
