After last year's Marwar trip, we thought we should reduce the overall trip length. So we made this as 12 day trip. The group was Pranav, his parents and his paternal grandparents.
Boarded the 6:50 pm Pune-Jodhpur train to Mount Abu. This train had a First AC compartment. We have been through this enough that Pranav knew exactly what was going on. He was calmer than any of the previous trips we can remember.
Reached Abu Road at around 1:30. Headed to the hotel and dropped Pranav and Aparna there and rest of us went to Mount Abu to check out the sites. The hotel was only about an acceptable level of cleanliness and the rooms were small. The hotel was noisy as well. But Pranav slept through the night OK.
Pranav was in the hotel all day. Aparna and Manoj went to Amba Mata temple in the forenoon and to Mount Abu in the afternoon. Pranav was just fine with his grand parents.
Started at 9:00 am towards Udaipur. Excellent road and covered it in 3 hours. Pranav was quite fine on the road (we had given him half an Avomine). In the afternoon we went to the nearby Bagore ki Haveli. Pranav behaved very well and enjoyed his outing. In the evening we took him to the rooftop restaurant for a sunset. Pranav behaved very well again. Despite many tourists he was sitting calmly and no one even noticed him around. The "we" today is just Manoj, Aparna and Pranav. Manoj's parents had gone on a day trip to visit Ranakpur and Kumbalgarh.
Aparna and Manoj did the day trip to Ranakpur and Kumbalgarh. Pranav stayed with his grand parents in the room. A regular day in the hotel for Pranav.
All of us went to see the City Palace. It was very crowded and we took a guided tour. Pranav again behaved very well. He walked with the group without making any fuss. After that we say the Crystal Gallery and then Pranav headed to room with his grand parents. Although they had a hard time finding their way back, Pranav was quite calm. Looks like our therapies are paying off. Aparna and Manoj did the city sights for the rest of the day while Pranav rested in the hotel room.
Aparna and Manoj took a day trip to Dungarpur. A regular day at the hotel for Pranav. Despite not going outside, Pranav was quite happy in the room with his grand parents.
Two hours drive on good roads brought all of us to Chittorgarh. Pranav was fine during the trip (yes, with Avomine). In the afternoon, we took turns to see the fort while Pranav stayed at the Haveli (our hotel for the day/night).
Long-ish 3.5 hr drive brought us to Bundi. Road was fine and Pranav had Avomine. Pranav stayed in the hotel room with Aparna and the rest of us checked out the sights. For some reason, Pranav started throwing up after dinner. We are completely lost as to what the cause might have been. This trip, we had taken extra care to make sure Pranav was never exposed to outside dirt. He was only given cooked food (we had brought all the ingredients with us). Only outside stuff he ever had was curd, bottled water and fruits. We are now resigned to the fact that if we take Pranav out, he will fall sick no matter how much precaution you take!
Pranav was below the weather today. He was supposed to join us for the sightseeing. But we changed the plan and took turns to sightsee and kept him in the hotel. He ate very little during the day and threw up again in the evening despite Ondansetron.
Pranav recovered by the morning and we could continue onto Kota as per plan. Simple 1 hour drive which went event free. Pranav stayed in Kota hotel while the rest of us took turns to sightsee. Pranav was fed light meals throughout the day.
All of us went on an hour long trip (each way) to Baroli Temples. The place was entirely deserted. Pranav was initially happy to run around. But threw a tantrum by the end. Maybe he was tired after his sickness. Anyway, there was no one around to witness his tantrum and we put him back in the car and got back to the hotel. We caught the evening train to Mumbai. First AC. Was event free as usual.
Today turned out to be a very tiring day in the hindsight. Our train reached Mumbai BCT at 8am. We checked into the retiring room and then ate breakfast. Then we headed to CSTM (nearby station) and checked into a shabby room there. Our train to Pune left at 12:45 and we reached Pune at 5pm. Back to back train was very draining on all of us and we can see that Pranav was really tired by the end. We should avoid this type of return in the future. Back to back trains on return is not a good idea.
