This trip followed close to heels of the Bhopal trip. There were less than two weeks time between the two trip. This one was the longest we have attempted so far in India. The group was the same as the last trip - Pranav, Manoj, Aparna and Manoj's mum.
We could not get train tickets. So we took a flight. We had timed the flight to be close to Pranav's sleep time. We gave him Avomine and he slept fine on the flight despite loud noise. We reached our hotel by 3pm. Pranav was in good mood and we used that to visit couple of temples. Pranav loves auto-rickshaw rides. We ordered room service for the night and gave Pranav rice, curd and dal. We stocked up on fruits and bread for the next few days.
Free morning buffet breakfast had Uttappams and Papayas. Pranav ate reasonably well and we took an auto to visit few mosques. Pranav loves visiting desolate monuments as he has enough space to run around. The only trouble was the cold wind that hits your face in an open auto-rickshaw. We were back by 9:30am. Manoj and his mum left to see Calico museum. Aparna fed Pranav poha for lunch. Pranav didn't each much after waking up and we all went to Sabarmato Ashram and fed him some bread and home made jelly (we had carried enough to last the trip) at the Ashram. Dinner was kichadi for Pranav.
Similar breakfast in the morning and another auto trip to see the step-wells. Back by 11am. When Pranav slept, Manoj and his mum went to check out NC Mehta museum. After that Manoj and Aparna went for the Calico museum. Pranav stayed at the hotel for the day.
Similar breakfast and auto-ride to check out Sarkhej Roza. We took turns to see stuff for the afternoon. The morning auto-rides by now has given a light cough to Pranav. In the evening, Pranav was a bit irritated having been in room for over 3 days. So took him to check out a couple of mosques.
Took 2 hr drive to Zainabad. Did not give Avomine to Pranav. He was fine. After breakfast, didn't feed him anything till we reached Zainabad. The room there was not kid friendly. We knew it will be a cold night and changed our minds about staying here for 3 nights. Aparna and Manoj took evening Safari. Pranav was cranky that night. We had a hard time putting him to sleep. He slept by 10:30pm. Not too bad a day though.
Manoj and his mum took the morning Safari. Took 11m taxi back to Amdavad. Hoped that Pranav would sleep in the car. He didn't. But he did not get motion sick either.
Simple day for Pranav. He stayed in the hotel while Manoj and his mum checked out Modhera and Patan. The hotel was close to a mall and there were enough distractions for Pranav.
Same as previous day. Aparna checked out the sights.
Took a morning taxi to Baroda. 2hrs. No incidents. Aparna was a bit sick today. Something she ate previous day was giving her trouble. Sightseeing was hard on her for that reason. Pranav was fine though. The cough was subsiding. Towards late that night, Pranav started showing signs of upset stomach. He is generally constipated a lot. So upset stomach meant normal motion twice a day.
1hr (each way) trip to Champaner. Pranav had bowel movements at the site as soon as we reached. But we could find a toilet to clean him up. We cur short our sight seeing for the day and came back to hotel.
Pranav stayed home all day and we put him on BRAT diet. Took overnight train to Pune. No incidents.
