Sun Temple, Saqsaywaman, Cuzco, Peru
The sun temple - or what remains of it - in the Saqsaywaman fort overlooking the city of Cuzco. Saqsaywaman means "Lightening Shaped" in the Inca language. The fort served as a protection for Cuzco, the capital of the Inca empire. This is the place where Fransisco Pizzaro (Peru's conqueror) lost his brother in one of the more famous battle with the Incas.
