Obelisk of Hatshepsut, Karnak Temple, Luxor, Egypt

This obelisk of Hatshepsut survived the vandalism because it was protected by a wall built around it by her stepson, Tuthmoses III. He had built the wall to hide his stepmum's records. Destroying it was out of question as it has God's name written all over it. This is one of the many surviving obelisks of Hatshepsuts.
